Our prepress department utilizes CTP technology – that is, Computer to Plate. Computer to negative to plate is the method used for the past number of years and, though good, the print images created through this method will be slightly less crisp and clear as that created through the CTP process. Just as when you photocopy a copy you lose clarity and each subsequent copy of that copy loses even more, so too the additional reproduction step of Computer to negative to plate causes a slight degradation of copy as well. The Computer to plate method of generating printing plates provides the most direct image and thereby the very best quality image with excellent clarity. Additionally, we only use metal plates on our presses, since polymer plates tend to stretch and lose image clarity as well, especially over longer press runs.
